hi can anyone tell me what is the fastest i can push my barton 3000+ to on standared cooling?got it at 2236(172*13)stable for 16 hours.any help would be helpful.

Hmm I've heard that the record for Barton 3000+ is around 3600 MHz, so You still have... a loooong loooong way ahead to go, baby! (1364 MHz to go...) L.o.L.![]()
It'd be helpful if the multiplier is unlocked, so You can raise the FSB further more while reducing the multiplier, so You're (at least) at FSB 200. 200x13 is not attainable with standard cooling (except with the good rare stepping code), so it's nice for You to try to reach FSB 200 first, while maintaining the clock speed around 2200-2300 MHz (by reducing the multiplier)
Btw, overclocking is not necessarily gaining the fastest clock speed, BUT gaining the best combination (FSB & Multiplier) is our goal. For example, 200x11 is much better than 172x13 according to me, although the 172x13 combination produces higher clock speed than the 200x11.
If the multipiler is locked, say goodbye to FSB 200, and You're done!
PS: I was assuming You haven't got any thermal problems.
hi there, i got my self a 3000+ baton, now i had a max speed of 2.4ghz. with all combination of fsb n multiplier. like fulvian said, not all barton can go up to 2.6ghz. for start i suggest u try to change your fsb to 200mhz *11 multiplier. if u can go this speed then u can try higher fsb. but for knowing how far your barton can go is by staying the fsb in 200mhz n change the multi to >11. but dont forget to raising the vcore n vdd within the raising of proc speed.
after knowing your max proc ability then u can try to made the best combination of fsb * multiplier for your max proc speed.
at this stage, it depends on your memory to run further.. good luck.. hope my explanation can help you out..
but dont forget the cooling u must had for the processor okay. i'm not recomending u to go more than 200*11 if u had a stock cooling.
