However, having studied the threads in numerous forums and reviews on other websites we arrived at the conclusion that different ASUS Striker Extreme units may show dramatically different results during overclocking. Some Striker Extreme owners cannot push the FSB frequency even beyond 430MHz, while other lucky fellows manage to cross the 500MHz bar without any difficulty. Having collected convincing evidence that our failure has nothing to do with lack of experience or skill, we decided to turn to ASUS for explanations.

ASUS Striker Extreme mainboard is still far from the well-done stage, featuring frustrating flaws in the BIOS. Although these problems get solved little by little, the product is too expensive to prevent a certain degree of frustration on the users’ part.

However, the greatest drawback of ASUS Striker Extreme is that different mainboard units may demonstrate absolutely different operational parameters. While some Striker Extreme mainboards can easily hit super-high FSB frequencies, the other identical mainboards will stall at 450MHz FSB. This diversity of results is most likely connected with the chipset in the first place, and not with the mainboard manufacturing issues. However, the end users will not benefit from this knowledge: it is still the lottery, no matter who is organizing it.

Highs:

• Excellent performance;
• Nvidia SLI support, three PCI Express x16 slots;
• Outstanding accessories bundle;
• Great for poorly lit places
• Impeccable support of 1T Command rate setting and pseudo-asynchronous memory clocking.

Lows:

• Performance drop on FSB frequency increase beyond 420MHz;
• Big difference between the selected and actual voltage settings in BIOS Setup;
• High price.

Udah banyak rev diluar . mobo ini selain mahal juga panas . Coba cari yang lain aja . bisa beralih ke p5wdh aja .

ehm.. daripada itu masih mending Republic of Gamers, meskipun antara harga dan kinerja gak masuk akal... daripada nyesel lupain aja baca2 review tuch mobo! saran gua ambil aja RD600... cek di xtremesystem, dulu pernah ada komplain dan emang ditentang banget tuch product..

agree pak! kalo gak salah dulu baca ada bug di regulator voltage... jadi ada limitasi FSb per clocknya.. beda dgn 975.. orang lawan 975 aja dia masih belum jelas! mau lawan RD600 malah diasepin. istilah RD600 itu ama juara1 gak beda jauh, tapi ama juara 3 jauh banget! tapi enak maen di divider memory yg udah independent kan!

ha3x ini emang rata2 problem asus pas jaman 462 dulu! tapi sekarang udah mulai mendingan koq! cuma yang keliatan banget itu DFI Lanparty.. the best voltage regulator yg pernah gua rasain.. tapi untuk sekarang GigaByte mulai condong ke arah sana juga
