    spek buat server

    halo semuanya, salam kenal.

high end sih enggak, yg penting performancenya bagus buat server.
tapi harganya juga jangan mahal sekali (kisarannya 10 - 15 jt)
hardisknya 40 Gb cukup (saya denger ada diatas 7200 rpm ?), memori 1 atau 2 Gb (DDR ??). absolutely ga perlu vga ato SC bagus.

saya udah lama sekali ga ngikutin perkembangan komputer, jadi buta ama produk2 terbaru. makanya sekarang lagi bingung nih milih speknya.

NB: wah yg di thread proc terlalu multimedia. kayanya bukan spek yg saya cari

Intel XEON Nocona (lupa speednya brp)
    Mobonya juga lupa
    RAMnya 2GB

The single-CPU scores fell slightly below those of Intel's best. However, the dual- and quad-CPU configurations were another story altogether. Below is the comparison of those systems: (Note: Itanium 2 shows four-way and 8-way systems)
If you look closely at the graph above, you'll note that the four-way Opteron nearly equals an 8-way Itanium 2 in terms of integer performance! That, in and of itself, says a mouthful about this architecture.

What may be even more impressive is that with so much going against it, AMD’s fastest Opteron 250 processors still not only manage to fend off the Xeon, but in some benchmarks, still can crush the latest and greatest from Intel with ease. While Intel may be the choice for content creation types, the Opteron still wallops the Xeon in terms of memory bandwidth/latency, number crunching, webserver performance, and media encoding. In all honestly, the Opteron system felt much smoother during our testing in comparison to the new Xeons, which we would tend to attribute to the Opteron’s on-die memory controller feature. If pure performance was your main goal of buying a new dual processor system, the Opteron 250 would still be our processor choice.
    Dari Anandtech - http://www.anandtech.com/IT/showdoc.aspx?i=1982&p=10
Interestingly enough, while the new Gallatin Xeon MPs have a massive 4MB L3 cache, most of that cache will end up being used to keep traffic off of the bandwidth starved 400MHz FSB. The performance gap between the Opteron 848 and the Xeon MP is amplified significantly once you move to a 4-way setup; the Xeon's shared bus just can't cut it anymore, not at 400MHz. AMD's point-to-point Hyper Transport implementation helps extend their performance advantage significantly. An 8-way Opteron vs. Xeon comparison would not be pretty.
    Game PC - http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_cont...ookie%5Ftest=1
Not only are bandwidth levels higher, the efficiency of the memory modules greatly increases. For our dual-CPU / single-channel DDR (on each CPU) configuration with NUMA, our theoretical peak bandwidth level is 6.4 GB/s (3.2 GB/s single channel DDR for each CPU). With NUMA, the system is able to utilize 6.1 GB/s of the available bandwidth, leading for 96% memory efficiency - which is unheard of for a traditional dual CPU system. With our dual CPU / dual channel DDR system, our theoretical levels are 12.8 GB/s (6.4 GB/s dual channel DDR for each CPU). Our system is able to push roughly 10.0 GB/s of memory bandwidth, and while the efficiency is somewhat lowered compared to the lower capacity configuration, the bandwidth numbers are nothing short of astonishing.

Intel belum punya NUMA. Hanya processor kelas IBM Power5, SPARC, dan PA-RISC aja yang punya system NUMA (Non Unified Memory Architecture).

menurut g seh beli aja sever beneran , g pernah beli komp basis xenon tp seni sever akhirnya rusak , ternyata klip heatsink copot(kayak mobo jangrik bgt). akhir g pake sever "HP generasi 3" br beberapa bulan tp fasilitasnya ok bgt sistim silkulasinya ok. yang penting ruang server bebas debu dan dingin tp gak boleh lembab.
