    Re: Hotspot on my IR

Yah kalo emang udah jatuh cinta jangan kepalang tanggung bro.. oprek aja kamera nya..

    ======================

    Cameras capable of IR.

    01) Canon 10D
    02) Canon 20D (Colour-expect a long exposure time)
    03) Canon 30D (Long exposure time, color not confirmed)
    04) Canon 300D(Colour-expect a long exposure time)
    05) Canon 350D(Colour-expect a long exposure time)

    10) Canon G2 (Colour- No)
    11) Canon S1IS (Colour with 2x ELP filters)
    12) Canon S2IS (Colour)
    13) Dimage 7 and Dimage 5 (Colour)
    14) Epson PhotoPC 3100Z (Colour)
    15) Fujifilm S2pro, color (prone to hotspots, banding at high ISO)
    16) Fuji s602 (Colour)
    17) Fuji S9500
    18) Fuji 6500fd
ISO: 100 (Good), 200 (Acceptable noise)
    Hotspot:
    1. Can Reduce by using larger aperture.
    2. Most visible at ~50mm focal length. Can see hexagon shape distinctly. Therefore, avoid 50mm. Long focal length leads to small aperture causing hotspot also
    3. CPL, Normal UV Hoya, ND8 all cannot reduce hotspot
    4. Lens hood cannot reduce hotspot
    19) Fuji FinePix F30 (Colour)
    20) Leica Digilux 1 (Colour)
    21) Nikon 5700 - IR Mono
    22) Nikon 8400 (Colour- No)
    23) Nikon 8700 (Colour- No)
    24) Nikon CP8800 (mono only.)
    25) Nikon Coolpix 950

    34) Olympus E-300 (Colour)
    35) Olympus E-330 (Colour)
    36) Olympus E-500 (colour)
    37) Olympus 2020 (Colour)
    38) Olympus 4040 (Colour)

    45) Pentax K10D - Thanks to night86mare for the update
    a) K10D can do IR, but needs super long exposures
    b) The kit lens is very good for IR: Pentax 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SMC P-8A
    c) There is hotspotting on this lens: Pentax 16-45mm f/4 ED AL SMC P-DA
    46) Ricoh GR-D
    47) Ricoh GX100
    48) Sony DSC 505
    49) Sony DSC 707

    51) Sony DSC 828
    52) Sony DSC-V3

    54) Sony A100
    Plase note:
Canon cameras = long exposures = many seconds (varies by filter + lens)
Canon EOS 5D requires much less exposure time than EOS 20D

Also, cameras labelled "no-colour" are tested with Hoya R72 filters only,
there are also Edward Long Pass(ELP) filter,
Cokin P007 filter (also a few others) that may be able to produce coloured IR images with these cameras labelled "Colour - no".
