The temperature has stabilized at 76°C (against Northwood's 50°C). Now let's compare: Northwood has 34°C at idle against 50°C at a 100 percent loading, while Prescott has 50°C against 76°C. The difference is not in favour of Prescott.

We used the ABIT AA8 Duramax motherboard for testing. WindowsXP w/SP2 was installed, and the test system ran in open-air. A standard LGA775 cooler was used with one gig of Crucial DDR2, and the entire system was set for “Default” voltages.

Prescott’s Vesuvian March: Running In Reverse?

For comparison purposes we’ve gathered the thermal data collected on the first few Prescott’s. The 3.2 GHz was Socket 478, 3.6 GHz is LGA 775, and 3.8 GHz is LGA 775 E0. We compared the new 3.8 E0 stepping at 3.6 GHz as well to get an apples-to-apples feel for how the two ranked against each other. All temperature measurements were taken using an Intel OEM cooler, either for Socket 478 or LGA775, depending on the chip in question. Obviously all these tests weren’t run on the same board nor on the same day, but room temp was / is set for a constant 72’F.

Kebanyakan orang mengeluh suhu presscottnya diatas 58'c - 68'c (ini kebanyakan biosnya salah baca, solusinya update bios --> selesai)

Iya tentang banyak thread tentang suhu presscot ... saya rasa itu wajar karna mereka kebanyakan ngak ngerti so mudah2an dengan adanya grafik diatas bisa dimengerti oleh pecinta komputer di sini.
