[World War III] Could be on the Internet !!

Badan Telekomunikasi PBB menyatakan bahwa perang dunia III bisa terjadi di dunia maya. Negara-negara di dunia diminta untuk waspada dan membekali diri dengan sistem pertahanan yang mumpuni.

"Perang dunia berikutnya bisa terjadi di ranah maya, dan ini dapat menjadi malapetaka. Kita harus memastikan semua negara paham bahwa di perang ini tidak ada superpower," ujar Hamadoun Toure, Sekretaris Jenderal International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

"Kehilangan jaringan vital dapat melumpuhkan secara cepat setiap negara, dan tidak ada yang kebal terhadap serangan cyber," tambah Toure dalam acara ITU Telecom World 2009, seperti dikutip detikINET dari AFP, Kamis (8/10/2009).

Toure menambahkan bahwa saat ini negara-negara mengandalkan teknologi untuk berbagai bidang seperti keuangan, kesehatan, layanan darurat, distribusi makanan. Seiring dengan meningkatnya keterikatan dengan teknologi, khususnya internet, serangan cyber juga mengalami peningkatan.

Salah satu serangan yang sering dilakukan dedemit maya adalah phising untuk mendapatkan password atau juga dengan cara membobol jaringan keamanan.

Oleh karena itu, setiap negara hendaknya membekali diri dengan sistem pertahanan yang mumpuni supaya tidak mudah dilumpuhkan.

Untuk mengantisipasi serangan cyber, Departemen Keamanan AS mengumumkan akan menggaji seribu ahli keamanan IT baru.

Sementara itu, Korea Selatan mengumumkan akan melatih 3000 polisi cyber tahun depan. Lalu bagaimana dengan Indonesia?

Siapkah Indonesia ??
