    Lebih jauh tentang pass-through dan firewire

    mohon informasi lebih jauh mengenai pass-through,
    -ini apa dvcam cuma sebagai lewatan saja?
    -bagaimana dengan setting-an default dari dvcam - apa ada pengaruhnya? i.e. setting-annya ada bright, widescreen, ntsc-padahal sumber pal, audio mode 8bit-perlukah dibikin 16bit.

    -apa sih bedanya firewire biasa, firewire chip texas instrument, firewire ohci?

    -bagaimana dengan ADS PYRO Basic DV, apakah performance-nya sama dengan firewire biasa? fyi: punya 3-port external 6-pin

    -bagaimana pula dengan ADS PYRO 1394 DV yang mempunyai 2-port external ohci + 1-port internal ohci?

    terimakasih

    Yang lainnya gua gak tau. Tapi yang gua tau biasanya DVCAM itu gabung dengan miniDV atau DV. (biasanya ditulis DV/DCAM.) Tapi memang karena sistemnya beda, ada lagi format khusus yang dibedakan : DVCPRO punya panasonic. Gua gak tau yang panasonic, gak punya dan gak pernah make.

    Dan soal firewire (texas Instrument dan OHCI), kayaknya itu pabriknya aja dah.. kayak NVDIA dengan ATI. Tapi fungsinya ya sama2 ajah... tapi... kayaknya lebih compatible-an yang OHCI, yaa... soalnya gua pake DV500 yang firewirenya Texas Instruments sering crack ketimbang gua pake firewire bawaan SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum yang OHCI....

    ada yang bisa ngasih info lainnya gak?!

    yang lainnya gua gak ngatri...

    Re: Lebih jauh tentang pass-through dan firewire

    ini yang saya dapet dari browser,

    OHCI - “Open Host Controller Interface”, ini semacam sertifikatnya firewire - jadi kalo sudah di-stamp OHCI pasti sudah kompatibel dengan peralatan2 komputer dan chips yang disarankan punyanya si-TI karena jarang bermasalah, ini kutipannya;

    So, back to 1394. A few years back, Apple determined a specification for transferring digital data and submitted it to the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. (IEE) This became known as IEEE-1394. Apple called it “Firewire.” Sony didn’t like it either, and so they called it “i-Link.” And it’s all the same thing, so quit arguing with your brother-in-law about whether your Apple Firewire is faster than his Sony i-Link, and that both of you are faster than your cousin’s OHCI. They are the same. They all include the same specifications and controller capability as any 1394 interface device.

    OHCI, or “Open Host Controller Interface” uses the IEEE-1394 spec. However, it also uses more than just the basic specs that the majority of the video cards use. OHCI allows for hard drives, CDR’s, scanners, audio and video devices, digital still cameras, mixers, and so much more to be controlled.

    jadi saya simpulkan kalau firewire ada stamp OHCI berarti lebih bagus, pakai chips TI berarti bagus, bukan OHCI atau non-chips TI aka "biasa" perlu trial by error.

    ayo yang sudah x-priment sama pass-through bagi2 informasi dong???
